3. Cowboys sack Wentz five times

One of the ways that Dallas was able to have so much success in their first meeting of the 2019 season was harassing Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. The Cowboys forced two turnovers on Wentz’s first two drives of the Week 7 contest, which really set the tone for the rest of the game as Wentz ended the day with two lost fumbles and an interception.

A big reason why the Cowboys were able to cause problems for the Philadelphia offense and the quarterback was the pressure they got when rushing the passer. DeMarcus Lawrence and Robert Quinn both notched a sack on the day, as did cornerback Jourdan Lewis on a beautifully designed and executed blitz from the outside.

With Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson set to miss another game on Wentz’s front side, expect that trend to continue in the Week 16 matchup. Lawrence will likely line up primarily on that side of the line throughout the contest and will feast against a backup. The result will be Wentz feeling the heat all day.

This should mean that we’ll see plenty of mistakes made once again by Wentz but it also means that the Cowboys defensive line should be able to change momentum and stall drives simply by bringing down the quarterback. In the end, Lawrence, Quinn and the Dallas pass-rush will finish the game with at least five sacks.
