The Kansas City Chiefs are still eyeing a first-round playoff bye as they face the Chicago Bears in Week 16. Bold predictions for Sunday Night Football.

With a win over the Pats and then a snowy victory over Denver last week, the Kansas City Chiefs have already claimed the AFC West crown this season. Now the question is if they can catch New England to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference and get a first-round bye. To do their part, they must win out, starting with a Week 16 trip to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.

After losing to Green Bay last week, the Bears have been eliminated from postseason contention just one year removed from winning the NFC North. Things have not gone as planned for Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears this year as they’ve fallen short of expectation. Now as they look to save face and finish strong though, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs aren’t going to make things easy.

This is a fascinating dynamic between these two teams, particularly with what the primetime matchup means for each of them. Regardless, let’s dive into this game and make five bold predictions for the Chiefs and Bears on Sunday Night Football.

5. Kelce dominates with 125+ yards

Because he only has four touchdowns on the year, many people might think that Travis Kelce has been quiet this season. However, the star tight end has still led the Chiefs offense in receiving with 86 receptions for 1,131 yards on the year, which ranks seventh in the NFL among all pass-catchers.

In the snow against Denver last week, Kelce was an absolute monster as he attacked the middle of the field. The Kansas City tight end ended the game catching 11 of his 13 targets for 142 yards (though he again failed to find the end zone).

With the Bears linebacker corps being a bit depleted at this point, they could very much struggle to contain Kelce in any regard, or at least as much as the tight end can be contained. As such, he’ll feast again with 125 or more receiving yards for the second straight week — and he might find the end zone this time around.
