Robert Saleh

40-year old Robert Saleh is going to be a hot name this offseason. The San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator has turned this unit around and has them playing the best football of their lives.

He’s not only been calling the shots while Richard Sherman has a career-resurgence, but has gotten the most out of elite young players such as Nick Bosa. For those reasons, and many more, teams in need of a coach will be looking at Saleh.

For Dallas, this one feels like a long shot. Yes, they should interview him and pick his brain but it’s not likely they’re going to go the coordinator route once again.

When Jason Garrett took over as interim head coach following Wade Phillip’s during, there were a lot of growing pains. Not only did he continually finish 8-8, but he struggled in must-win games and had some serious game-management concerns.

Owner Jerry Jones stepped in and forced Garrett to hand over play-calling duties which helped him progress some, but it was never enough. Garrett will finish his tenure without having ever passed the second round of the playoffs.

Saleh has a bright future as a head coach in the NFL but it would be shocking to see that happen in Dallas as they will probably prefer someone who has overseen a full team in the past.
