31. Detroit Lions (31)

Disappointment doesn’t even begin to describe how this season has been for the Detroit Lions after Matt Patricia’s team suffered their 11th loss in 12 games by coming up short against the Denver Broncos.

While the argument can be made the circumstances could have been much different if the Lions weren’t down to their third-string quarterback in David Blough, keep in mind this team was already dealing with issues before Matthew Stafford went down with a back injury.

With Detroit only having three wins to their name with one game remaining, it will be interesting to see what the offseason has in store in regards to whether Patricia return for another year as head coach in 2020.

Normally, someone like Patricia wrapping up their second season as head coach for the team would be given another opportunity, but also keep in mind that Patricia was originally brought on board with the belief of Detroit quickly becoming a playoff contender again in NFC.

This appeared to be the case early on in the year, but things quickly went downhill once the end of September arrived, and Lions have struggled ever since, as Sunday’s loss to the Broncos was just another example of how rough this year has been.
