NFL Power Rankings, Week 17: Eagles bury Cowboys, Ravens clinch No. 1 seed
By Dan Parzych
3. New Orleans Saints (2)
Since the New Orleans Saints are still in position to potentially earn a first-round bye in the playoffs, it would have been devastating to see Sean Payton’s team come up short on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
Plus, with the Titans making the decision to sit Derrick Henry so the running back would hopefully be ready to go for Week 17, this seemed like the perfect opportunity for the Saints to take advantage.
When taking into consideration that New Orleans was trailing 14-0 after the first quarter, this seemed like it was going to be a long afternoon before the NFC South champions rallied to earn the 38-28 victory.
While Michael Thomas entering the history books after catching 12 passes for 136 yards to go along with a touchdown will be heavily discussed over the next week or so, the most important factor of the game was easily Alvin Kamara finding the end zone.
As crazy as it is was to believe, the last time Kamara found the end zone for the Saints prior to Sunday came all the way back in Week 3.
So with Kamara finding the end zone twice to help take down the Titans, here’s to hoping this was the kind of game the Saints star running back needed before playoffs get underway soon.
