Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) at New York Giants (4-11)

Sunday, December 29, 4:25PM ET

The Philadelphia Eagles are hurting right now. The injuries have begun piling up as the season progressed, and it’s reached a head as we move into the final week of the 2019 campaign. Can they muster enough across the board to beat the New York Giants and win the division?

It seems likely, even with so many factors going against them. They’re nearly devoid of offensive weapons outside of Carson Wentz, although Jordan Howard should be available in Week 17. While the offense may be in shambles, though, the Philadelphia defense is holding firm, evidenced by their impressive performance against the Dallas Cowboys last weekend.

That doesn’t mean the Giants will go down easy. Despite their underwhelming record, the New York offense has done well with Daniel Jones running the show. Chances are the passing game will find the end zone at least a couple of times, putting even more pressure on Wentz to keep up on the scoreboard.

When it all comes down to it, though, the Eagles have the edge. They should make enough plays on defense to keep Jones in check, while Wentz gets enough help from his playmakers to get the win. Sorry Cowboys fans, but your favorite team misses out as a result.

Prediction: Eagles win 20-17
