12. Keenum tosses four touchdown passes against Cowboys

Just when rookie Dwayne Haskins was heating up at the right moment, the Ohio State product suffered an unfortunate ankle injury against the New York Giants this past weekend, resulting in the Washington Redskins quarterback already being ruled out for Sunday.

Even though the Redskins have nothing to play for at this point other than a spoiler role for the Dallas Cowboys hanging on for dear life in the NFC East playoff race, it would still be great to see the team finish on a strong note with a win on Sunday.

Now that Haskins is out, it looks like Case Keenum will receive another opportunity to start, and while this may not seem like that big of a deal in the world, keep in mind this could be viewed as an audition for the veteran quarterback.

Since no one really knows what the future holds for Keenum, Sunday’s meeting with the Cowboys will be the perfect opportunity to show he can still play at a high level.

Keenum may have to result in settling for a backup role in 2020, but at least if Sunday happens to be his final game with the Redskins, and he plays well enough to give the Cowboys a run for their money, it could help draw interest from teams over the next few months.
