8. Titans punch ticket to playoffs by defeating Texans

Despite two tough losses in a row, the Tennessee Titans still seem like the last team anyone will want to face in January if they were to earn the opportunity to participate in the playoffs.

Once Ryan Tannehill took over the starting role at quarterback instead of Marcus Mariota, the Titans emerged as one of the hottest teams in the NFL, and it’s been amazing to see Tennessee in control of their own destiny since hope seemed lost a few months back.

Even though the Titans came up short less than two weeks ago to the Houston Texans, Tennessee did only lose by three points to their rivals, meaning there’s every reason to believe they can win in Week 17.

When taking into consideration that Houston could still move up in the AFC standings if they win and receive some help on Sunday, this could very well put Tennessee at a major disadvantage if the Texans are playing extra motivated.

However, the case can also be made that Tennessee will be playing with a similar level of motivation since the team realizes they missed out on two golden opportunities over the last few weeks when it comes to winning key games.

So if the Titans can find a way to defeat the Texans, and earn that trip to the playoffs, January could be exciting for Tennessee.
