With Marshawn Lynch returning to Seattle for the playoffs, we look at three players that Dallas Cowboys fans would like to see suit up once more

The NFL had a little shot of nostalgia during the week of Christmas as the Seattle Seahawks filled a roster spot by bringing any a former star of theirs. Thin at running back due to injuries, they convinced Marshawn Lynch to come out of retirement and re-join the franchise.

Lynch was on the team during their Super Bowl-winning season as well as the year they were unable to beat New England for a second-straight title — which came after they famously did not give the ball to Lynch.

With this move making headlines, it opens the door for a lot of speculation — like wondering which players Dallas Cowboys fans would love to see play once more. There have been some great players in the history of this team but instead of imagining a 77-year old Roger Staubach behind this line, we will focus on players that could actually suit back up.

Of course, for Cowboys fans, they know returns such as the one Lynch is about to have isn’t always a great thing. They recently got a retired player to suit back up as tight end Jason Witten decided to come back to the game one year after hanging his cleats up.

Witten, who has been an iron-man for Dallas, left before the 2018 season to call games for ESPN Monday Night Football. He wasn’t popular in this role and some have even speculated that his struggles there influenced his return to the field.

Whatever the reason, the Cowboys got Witten back and he’s been a shell of his former self. He does have 59 receptions which is second on the team but has just 505 yards — which gives him a career-worst average of 8.6 yards per reception.

Even with that being tough to watch there are still many players fans would love to see back on the field. We will look at which three would bring the most excitement.
