Isn’t it crazy to think about how the Green Bay Packers are still in the hunt for the top overall seed in the NFC playoff race?
Depending on how the NFC West shapes out, the Packers could receive a major surprise at the conclusion of Week 17 if they happen to earn home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, although having a first-round bye is still pretty solid.
After earning another convincing win on the road over the Minnesota Vikings this past Monday, Green Bay hopes to keep the momentum going on Sunday when facing the Detroit Lions on the road.
With the Lions down to their third-string quarterback in David Blough, there are plenty of reasons to believe this will turn out to be an easy win for the Packers to keep the team in great shape to possibly earn that top seed.
But with Blough and the Lions having nothing to play for at this point, the last thing Green Bay can afford is to take a light approach with this contest.
Otherwise, Detroit could be in position to pull off the unthinkable by handing Green Bay their fourth loss of 2019, and make the NFC playoff picture a little more interesting.
