901. Scouting Report. . Luq Barcoo. 4. player. Pick Analysis. San Diego State

I recently released my first Chicago Bears mock draft recently and had them drafting Luq Barcoo in the fourth round. He isn’t well-known at this moment but I think he’s one of the better cornerbacks in this draft. He’ll get his opportunity to introduce himself in the postseason all-star games and in the NFL Combine.

Barcoo spent two seasons at a community college before finally getting into the big league college game. In addition to playing corner, he played wide receiver in high school and in community college so he understands what receivers want to do when he covers them.

In two years with the Aztecs, Barcoo has 75 tackles (five for loss), 20 passes defended and 10 interceptions. An amazing nine of them came in 2019.

Barcoo has the length to succeed at a higher level. He is 6-1 and has long arms and he uses every bit of his length to disrupt receivers. With his wide receiver experience, he does a great job of getting to the high point and snatching the ball from the air.

Barcoo is a plus run defender and he’ll get even better when he gains another 10-15 pounds. He doesn’t shy away from contact and plays a physical game.

Barcoo is a ball hawk who would add another player on the defense who forces turnovers. Turnovers helped the Bears win the NFC North in 2018 and they need to get back to that aggressive style to force them in bunches again in 2020.
