Seattle Seahawks (5) at Philadelphia Eagles (4)

Saturday, January 5, 4:40PM ET

After picking all three of the higher seeds to succeed in the first three games, I’m finally flipping the script in this one. While it’s not exactly hard to imagine this scenario playing out, it’s still my responsibility to explain my reasoning behind the decision.

Largely, it has to do with the number of injuries the Philadelphia Eagles are currently battling through. Yes, the Seattle Seahawks have also dealt with their own fair share of tough breaks, but they’ve patched the main one up with a Marshawn Lynch-sized patch. As for the Eagles, their offense is crippled to the point where I’m baffled they managed to make the playoffs.

I know the Eagles are rolling right now — they won four straight games to secure the NFC East crown after it seemed like they were a lost cause. Carson Wentz has stepped up his game, and he’s got just enough help from little-known sources to get wins. Unfortunately, all four of those aforementioned wins came against the NFC East. Big whoop.

The Seahawks are still the better team right now, even if the Eagles have slightly more momentum. Russell Wilson does his thing, making the most of what Philadelphia shows him and comes up big at the end to get the W. Maybe we’ll even see a big run or two from Lynch.

Prediction: Seahawks win 23-19
