NFC Divisional Round: New Orleans Saints (3) at Green Bay Packers (2)

Despite their 13-3 record, this Green Bay Packers team is not all its cracked up to be. Most of their dominant wins came against subpar competition, and they nearly crumbled in Week 17 against a Detroit Lions team led by a third-string quarterback. Put simply, the Packers are a dangerous bet.

The Saints are going to remove the Packers’ “contender” status with little mercy. They’re going to carve up the Green Bay secondary, nullifying the pass rush and putting all of the pressure on Aaron Rodgers to deliver. As we’ve seen at times this season, that’s not necessarily a recipe for success for the Packers.

Again, it comes down to what the Saints have to offer on offense. Brees is playing some of his best football, and Thomas simply can’t be slowed. Then, when the Green Bay defense has finally had enough of the passing game, Kamara will do his damage on the ground to help put this one out of reach.

It won’t be a blowout, but the Packers won’t ever feel like they’re in it after the first quarter. The Saints put a pounding on the NFC North champs, sending them home with their tails tucked between their legs. On to the NFC Championship it is for Brees and his underrated squad.

Prediction: Saints win 30-16
