Super Bowl LIV: Kansas City Chiefs vs New Orleans Saints

This is it. The Big Game. The final showdown that every team hopes to partake in at the start of the season. Expect in this hypothetical scenario, it’s the Chiefs and Saints throwing down the right to take home the Lombardi Trophy.

I’ve already touched on what both of these teams bring to the table. We know about the quarterbacks — this would be like last year, a battle between aging veteran and rising star (okay, maybe that’s a stretch for Jared Goff). We know about the defenses, which have been downright dangerous down the stretch. And we know about the future Hall of Fame coaches.

What we also know is that, when at his best, Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the game. When he gets hot, there isn’t a thing opposing defenses can do to cool him down. The New Orleans defense is full of top-tier talent, but they pale in comparison to the potential Mahomes’ arm possesses.

That’s what gives the Chiefs the edge in this one and allows them to win their first championship since 1969. It’s a victory for the city of Kansas City, Mahomes and Reid, who were already on the cusp of Super Bowl glory a season ago.

The 2019-20 campaign comes to a close with the Chiefs standing alone atop the mountain.

Prediction: Chiefs win 30-28
