NFC Wild Card: Seattle Seahawks (5) at Philadelphia Eagles (4)

Hey, what do you know!? The first and only “upset” of the Wild Card round that I’m predicting. It may not be as notable as you’d think considering how hard the Eagles had to work to get here, but we can’t overlook this Philadelphia team with the roll they’ve been on.

Right now, the Eagles are riding a huge wave of momentum. After being seemingly out of the playoff picture, they rattled off four straight wins to secure the NFC East crown and a playoff berth. It took a pitiful collapse by the Cowboys as well, but that’s beside the point. Carson Wentz has gotten them this far, and surely won’t roll over and die now that they’re in.

Still, I have to give the edge to the Seahawks. They’re far more healthy than Philadelphia (oddly enough), and offer far more explosiveness on the offensive end. Neither defense has been overwhelming this season, but Seattle’s defense has done a great job of bending without breaking and making big plays in key situations.

Especially with Marshawn Lynch having brushed off some rust, I could see the Seahawks pounding the Eagles into submission. It should be a close game (as per usual with both of these teams), with the away team getting a hard-fought win.

Prediction: Seahawks win 23-19
