1. Seattle advances to Divisional Round

The Seattle Seahawks went to the divisional round in 2016 and lost to the eventual NFC Champion, Atlanta Falcons. Seattle has not made it to the divisional round since then. It feels like the whole potential Seahawks dynasty crashed quickly, and an entirely different team is not trying to emulate its predecessor’s success.

Last year, the Seahawks overachieved by making the playoffs. This season, fans and analysts expected Seattle would be in contention. A loss in the Wild Card round would be disappointing, and, for all of their success, fans would view 2019 as an underachieving year for Pete Carroll’s squad.

The Eagles and Seahawks are easily the two most beat up teams in the playoffs. Both teams lost key players in the final weeks of the season. For Philadelphia, the offensive line recently lost Brandon Brooks, and most of the team’s wide receivers went down earlier this season. Seattle is missing their top three running backs, the starting center is on injured reserve (IR), and Duane Brown did not play in Week 17.

Sunday’s game is a matchup of the walking wounded, and the winner may be decided simply by who is left standing in the end. While the Seahawks have more healthy bodies, especially on offense, it’s difficult to see either of these teams making the NFC Championship Game.
