As the Minnesota Vikings head on the road for an NFC Wild Card Round matchup against the Saints, bold predictions for the No. 6 seed on Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings will kick off the NFC Playoffs on Sunday afternoon by taking on a familiar foe when it comes to the postseason. The Vikings, who hold the No. 6 seed in the NFC, will hit the road to take on the third-seeded New Orleans Saints at 1:05 p.m. ET on FOX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The winner of the matchup between Minnesota and New Orleans will advance to take on either the No. 1 San Francisco 49ers or the No. 2 Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round.

The Vikings come into the contest in a tough road environment while finishing up the regular season schedule with a record of 10-6 overall while grabbing second place in the NFC North for a second straight year after finishing behind the Packers in the division standings. Minnesota ended the year on a bit of a slump, riding a two-game losing streak going into the first round of the playoffs and the Wild Card contests throughout the NFL.

On the other end of the field on Sunday, the Vikings will face a Saints team that is viewed as one of the more dangerous teams in the playoffs this postseason. New Orleans finished the regular season slate with a record of 13-3 overall, taking the NFC South title once again.

Over the course of the last 10 seasons, the Vikings and Saints have some strong history when it comes to playing each other in the playoffs.

In 2017, Minnesota put together its “Minneapolis Miracle” game against New Orleans, when Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught a 27-yard touchdown reception with 25 seconds remaining in the game to lift Minnesota to a win in the Divisional Round. Additionally, a 2009 playoff meeting brought to light the Bountygate scandal.

With a storied history and an interesting matchup between the two squads going into Sunday afternoon in New Orleans, let’s make three bold predictions that will take place for the Vikings in the NFC Wild Card showdown.
