Minnesota Vikings: 3 X-factors to beating Saints in Wild Card Round
Before the Minnesota Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Wild Card Round on Sunday, here are three x-factors in the game for the Vikings.
The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for a tough test that will come on the road in the opening round of the 2020 NFL Playoffs this weekend. The sixth-seeded Vikings will begin postseason play on Sunday afternoon traveling to face off against the No. 3-seeded New Orleans Saints in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Minnesota and New Orleans, who are both trying to advance to the NFC Divisional Round to take on either the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers or the second-seeded Green Bay Packers on the road, will battle it out at 1:05 p.m. ET on FOX on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
For the Vikings, they will enter the playoff showdown after finishing the regular season schedule with a 10-6 record, good enough to finish second in the NFC North division behind only the Packers in the standings.
While having lost two games in a row to end the year going into the postseason, Minnesota enters a tough road environment in New Orleans this weekend as an underdog against a Saints team that is viewed as one of the more dangerous teams to make a playoff run.
On the other sideline at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday afternoon, the Vikings take aim at a Saints squad that is coming off of a 13-3 season while claiming the NFC South title once again this year.
These two teams have a strong history when it comes to facing each other in the playoffs over the past 10 or so years, and another storyline will unfold to add to that history this weekend in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Before Minnesota and New Orleans battle it out in New Orleans on Sunday afternoon, let’s take a look at three X-factors that will appear throughout the game for the Vikings as they try to steal a game on the road to begin the postseason.
