2. Cook plays huge role in Minnesota’s victory

From basically the opening kick off on Sunday in the postseason contest, Dalvin Cook was the most important piece within the Vikings offense and he was able to take the offense to the next level in the game to come away with the win.

Cook had his way with the Saints defense in the winning effort, finishing the matchup with a team-best and game-best 94 yards and two touchdowns on the ground with 28 overall carries. In the passing game, Cook also made an impact with three catches for a total of 36 yards through the air.

It’s no secret that Cook has been an important player within Minnesota’s offense so far this season and he will continue to play a large role as the Vikings continue to roll along in the playoffs next weekend, but on Sunday he stepped up to the occasion to lead the Vikings.

The third-year running back had a breakout performance for Minnesota to lead it to an upset win in overtime on the road, but we once again learned just how important Cook is to the Vikings offensive unit and what it is able to accomplish throughout the course of a game.
