5. Charles Snowden, LB, Virginia

Virginia put up a fight against Florida in the Orange Bowl thanks to their ability to keep pressure on Kyle Trask. One of the contributing members was linebacker Charles Snowden. Against the Gators, Snowden did what he’s done throughout the season, making some solid plays in the run and pass game.

He finished the game with six tackles and a sack capping off an impressive season where he finished with five sacks, 72 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four pass defenses.

On-screen, what jumps out about Snowden is his excellent movement skills despite his 6-7, 235-pound frame. The former basketball player moves well in man and zone coverage. He’s not a great pass rusher but because of his excellent wingspan and solid athleticism, he offers upside.

Because of that, he’ll intrigue 3-4 teams as an outside linebacker. However, he’s not a player who can put his hand in the dirt for 4-3 teams. With his coverage skills and excellent tackling radius, he’s a fit as an outside backer in either scheme.

His tools, length, and athletic traits will undoubtedly garner someday Day 2 considerations. If he adds weight and continues to get stronger, the sky’s the limit for Snowden.
