1. Taysom Hill, Wherever you want to put him

This one is pretty intriguing. The New Orleans Saints have no quarterbacks under contract in 2020 as Drew Brees, Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill are all set to be free agents. Surely, they will re-sign at least one player — although Sean Payton will have to make a decision between Bridgewater and Brees.

Brees is clearly the more accomplished passer but he’s going to be 41-years old this season. Bridgewater, on the other hand, is 27 years old and was 5-0 as the starter this season while Brees was out.

Hopefully, as the Saints try to decide what to do there, Taysom Hill just slowly slips to the backburner and hits free agency. If so, the Cowboys would be wise to give him a call. Not only would he be an upgrade over Cooper Rush, but Hill was a Swiss Army Knife for New Orleans as he was used often as a quarterback, tight end, and runner — not to mention his work on special teams.

This season, Hill had 156 yards rushing and one touchdown but really blew up as a pass-catcher. He pulled in 19-of-22 targets for 234 yards and scored six touchdowns. He added another touchdown reception in the playoffs and threw a 50-yard pass as well which set up a score.

As for his connection to the Cowboys staff, this goes beyond him frustrating Mike Nolan’s defense in practice. Hill was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Mike McCarthy in 2017. He didn’t make the Packers 53-man roster but surely the team regretted that after watching him in New Orleans.

For Dallas, it would give their offense one more player capable of moving the chains on offense while also proving to be a red-zone threat. Plus, he could be a great option should Dak Prescott ever miss time.
