Following their loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Seattle Seahawks can focus on making personnel decisions for next season.

Despite their success during the regular season and playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks face a significant challenge on the horizon. 2020 free agency threatens to rob the team of several key players and many other contributors. The Seahawks face an uphill climb this offseason.

22 of Seattle’s players are unrestricted free agents (UFA) at the end of the calendar season. Two contributors, Jacob Hollister and David Moore, are restricted free agents (RFA). At the same time, the team also faces the prospect of losing any combination of their seven exclusive rights free agents (ERFA).

For this article, we’ll focus on the team’s unrestricted free agents and any players signed beyond the 2019 season who Seattle may cut. While the Seahawks will part with more than just five of their current players, the low number allows us to focus on the team’s most critical potential losses.

Also, Josh Gordon will not make an appearance. The pending UFA only contributed 19.9 yards per game during his brief stint in Seattle, and his NFL career may be over thanks to his most recent suspension. Even if he was healthy, Gordon is a shadow of his former self. This is 2020, not 2013. The Seahawks are better off with their younger receivers.

In a broad sense, this article covers the outlook for Seattle and several players the team could lose this summer. Several of these selections are controversial, and by no means will everyone agree with them. The last two slides also include players who the Seahawks will desperately fight to keep and have a good shot at retaining.
