5. Miami Dolphins

A few months ago, the Miami Dolphins appeared to be a lock for the top overall pick since they were a strong candidate to finish the year winless before Ryan Fitzpatrick actually helped the team perform better than expected.

With the Dolphins currently locked in at the No. 5 pick, the good news is if they miss out on Burrow, the team would still land another top quarterback such as Tua Tagovailoa or Justin Herbert.

But also, if the interest were really there on Burrow, Miami has a handful of extra draft picks that could be used to trade up if needed, which gives them a major advantage over any other team expressing interest.

Prior to the start of the 2019 season, the Dolphins seemed open to giving Josh Rosen a chance to prove himself being the quarterback of the future, and while this could very well still turn out to be the case, it’s not looking good for the former first-round pick.

At the time of their decision to acquire Rosen from the Arizona Cardinals, Miami knew they had nothing to lose in giving the quarterback a shot, and even though the argument can be made that he deserves more time, the Dolphins can’t miss out on a top prospect from this year’s class.

Miami may be open to just hanging on to the No. 5 pick to see which quarterback is still available, but at least if the interest were there to trade up for Burrow, those extra draft picks could come in handy, as previously mentioned.
