The New York Giants have Joe Judge at the helm now but they need to get him some help to work with by way of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The New York Giants‘ 4-12 record in the 2019 season meant it was time for a change with Big Blue. General manager Dave Gettleman kept his job but he fired head coach Pat Shurmur. Former Patriots wide receivers and special teams coach Joe Judge will kick off the new era as the head coach of the Giants.

The 2019 season was the beginning of the Daniel Jones era. As a rookie, he quickly silenced many of his critics, those who drowned him in boos and questions after being the No. 6 overall pick. The 6-5, 221-pound signal-caller threw for 3,027 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He showed off his athleticism and appears to have rejuvenated the Giants, giving them hope.

Still, his efforts weren’t enough and, frankly, his performance was inconsistent as you’d expect from a rookie. Jones went 3-9 as a starter with the “help” of an offensive tackle duo that allowed the most pressures in the NFL.

Despite Saquon Barkley being hurt, he still amassed over 1,000 yards in his sophomore season. Rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton played very well considering he only started just nine of 14 games he played in, finishing the season with eight touchdowns and 740 yards.

There wasn’t anything noteworthy about their pass rush. But at linebacker, Alec Ogletree continued to show why he’s an underrated player. In the secondary, Deandre Barker showed promise, as did Jabrill Peppers, who seemed to fit right in.

Still, they need an injection of youth with Janoris Jenkins being waived and Antoine Bethea knows he could be on the chopping block. The front seven needs some help, especially in the pass rush department.

Put simply, there is work to be done and the 2020 NFL Draft is a great place to do it. Armed with the No. 4 overall pick and, thus, some other high-end picks on Days 2 and 3, the Giants can make some big noise in the draft. But who should they be targeting come the end of April? Let’s take a look at seven possible targets.
