Mitchell Wilcox. 6. player. 816. . TE. Bulls

Though Jimmy Graham came up big a couple of times during the playoffs, he’s very much not the future for the Packers at tight end as they look to revise the pass-catching weapons around Rodgers. And while Jace Sternberger has potential, he’s not proven anything yet.

Thus, we use the sixth round to bring in some competition for Sternberger in the form of South Florida’s Mitchell Wilcox. Frankly, Wilcox is not a true, traditional inline tight end as he lacks a frame for blocking at the NFL level but his pass-catching ability and solid route-running could make him a big, long target for the Packers passing offense.

player. 812. . DT. Buckeyes . Davon Hamilton. 7

Adding legitimate help off the edge really allowed interior defensive linemen such as Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry and even Tyler Lancaster to succeed for Green Bay in 2019. While that may be so, proven depth remains a slight concern so taking a late-round flier on Davon Hamilton makes a lot of sense here.

Hamilton was not the most productive player at Ohio State but his tape shows a player with experience and talent on the interior. He moves well for his size and can be a big-time disrupter. The Packers simply would need to coach him up to bring out more consistency and he’d be a valuable rotational asset.

820. . OT. Ducks . Calvin Throckmorton. 7. player

Considering the strength of the Packers offensive line over the years, it might seem odd to see a third pick to address that unit in this mock draft. However, they need youth, depth and versatility in the trenches on offense and Calvin Throckmorton delivers that in the seventh round.

Throckmorton has the natural talent to play either tackle or guard at the NFL level. For that to happen though, he needs time to develop and be coached in the pros, particularly as it pertains to his bend and footwork. Even still, the movability and potential makes him good value to cap off the Packers’ draft class.
