Reliving the NFL Conference Championships, examining the retirement of Luke Kuechly, a quick look at Super Bowl 54 and more in the latest NFL Notebook.

I started something new for the 2020 NFL season. I call it “Sofa Sunday”. It’s my weekly tradition of sitting on a couch watching football for six to seven hours. It’s nothing new, it’s just the first time I actually called it “Sofa Sunday”.

My last true “Sofa Sunday” spent with a full day of NFL action was an interesting one, to say the least. It wasn’t as glorious as the previous two weekends of football, though there were certainly some thrills in the AFC Championship and NFC Championship Games.

Honestly, I’m just sad that this NFL season is only two weeks away from ending. The Super Bowl is always such a bittersweet time because it marks the end of football for nearly seven months. I really don’t want to think about it.

At the end of the day, football is pure fun. It’s fun to watch. It’s fun to play. It’s fun to write about. And don’t worry, there is a lot of fun stuff to write about. Just keep reading to see what I’m talking about.

  • The end of Aaron Rodgers?
  • The end of Luke Kuechly (for now).
  • The beginning of Scrap-The-Pro-Bowl Week, and why it should stay
  • Odell Beckham Jr.’s affinity for the spotlight
  • Why Jason Garrett can work out for New York
  • Early rumors and expectations for the NFL Draft
  • My favorite Super Bowl moments
  • Weekly awards and more…

To begin with, though, let’s dive into the conference championship games that set the stage for Super Bowl LIV and the conclusion for the NFL’s 100th season.
