Following an up-and-down year of NFL picks and predictions, it all comes to a end during Super Bowl 54 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.

It all comes down to this—a showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV to determine the new champions of the NFL.

Honestly, it isn’t surprising at all to see these two teams matching up in the Big Game. The Chiefs are always a threat with Patrick Mahomes at the helm, and the 49ers have been among the league’s most unbeatable teams of 2019. The only thing we can consider a surprise here is that the Baltimore Ravens won’t be playing on Super Bowl Sunday.

What I really like about this matchup is the huge difference between these two teams in terms of Super Bowl history. Despite their illustrious history and recent string of success, the Chiefs haven’t secured (or even come close to securing) a Lombardi Trophy since Super Bowl IV. Meanwhile, the 49ers have a slight edge in the experience department, as the franchise has five Super Bowl victories to its name.

So what should we be expecting on Feb. 2? Can the 49ers put on an encore of their NFC Championship game performance, or will Mahomes continue to prove that he’s the next generational talent under center with a Super Bowl in in only his second season as a starter?

Let’s take a look at the two contenders, see what they bring to the table, and then I’ll give you my pick and score prediction for Super Bowl LIV.
