The Dallas Cowboys passed on Randy Moss back in 1998 and never lived that down. In 2020, they make it right by taking his son in this 7-round mock draft.

The 2020 Dallas Cowboys are a team trying to change and learn from the past. They finally admitted Jason Garrett wasn’t the guy to get them to the Super Bowl and decided to bring in Mike McCarthy, the former Green Bay Packers head coach who spent 2019 out of the NFL.

McCarthy, who won a Super Bowl following the 2010 season with Green Bay, used that time off to reflect on what went wrong at the end with the Packers. He came away from that reflection realizing he needed to make some adjustments. One move was to lean more heavily on the use of analytics, which is a tool that can be helpful to any team.

He also showed that he can change his game-day philosophies as he’s retained Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator. And despite being a coach who normally calls his own plays, McCarthy has decided to allow Moore to do this after having success as a first-year play-caller in Big D last season.

According to NFL.com, Moore led Dallas the No. 1 offense in yardage (431.5) and second in passing yards (296.9). They were sixth in scoring with 27.1 points per game and while they had some issues pop up at the worst possible times, they really were an impressive offense that can build upon the results they had last season.

Now, they look to change even more as the Cowboys make a past mistake right and also start to draft for talent — rather than measurements — in this 7-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
