While most 2020 NFL Mock Draft articles rightfully have Joe Burrow going No. 1, what if the Cincinnati Bengals decided to go in a different direction?

In just about every 2020 NFL Mock Draft leading up to Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, Joe Burrow goes No. 1 to the Cincinnati Bengals following his recent historic season that consisted of a National Championship and winning the Heisman Trophy.

As much as the Bengals may want to give it another go with Andy Dalton under center since the results of this past season weren’t entirely the quarterback’s fault, Cincinnati needs to do what is best for the offense.

But also, as football fans have seen on numerous occasions over the years, there are no guarantees when it comes to the upcoming draft, and there’s always the chance of Cincinnati going with someone else other than Burrow.

Based on the results of this past season since Burrow put together one of the greatest college football campaigns of all time with the Tigers, it would seem foolish for a desperate team in the Bengals to pass on the LSU star that could very well become a top quarterback in the NFL one day.

However, what if Cincinnati decided to switch things up come April by going with someone else besides Burrow with the top overall pick, and look to another round to land a different quarterback?

Once again, this kind of talk will be considered ridiculous by many since the Bengals would risk looking back and regretting their decision in passing on Burrow.

Since one of the best parts about mock drafts is the speculation and discussion, it’s time to have a little fun with an edition leading up to the Super Bowl in which Cincinnati pulls the unthinkable by passing on Burrow with the top overall pick come April.
