2020 NFL Mock Draft: What if the Bengals pass on Joe Burrow?
By Dan Parzych
Remember in the middle of the 2019 season when the Oakland Raiders seemed to be heating up at the right time to make a surprise run at the playoffs in the AFC before going on to lose five of their final six games?
Clearly, the Raiders are more of a work in progress than originally expected, and after failing to reach the playoffs in each of the last two seasons under Jon Gruden, the pressure will be on come September to help Oakland finally make the leap.
The good news for the Raiders is from a talent perspective, the team has plenty to work with heading into the 2020 season, which will also happen to be their first year in Las Vegas as well.
While it will obviously be tempting for the Raiders to consider a wide receiver in the first round since Derek Carr could use another weapon in the passing game, and will be facing heavy pressure as well in 2020, cornerback also happens to be a top need.
Kristian Fulton is considered to be one of the top cornerbacks heading into this year’s draft and certainly played a key role in helping LSU recently win the National Championship.
So with the Raiders selecting at No. 12, if Fulton happens to be there to help fill that need at cornerback, why wouldn’t the team consider this possibility?
