2020 NFL Mock Draft: What if the Bengals pass on Joe Burrow?
By Dan Parzych
Depending on what happens with Jordan Howard this offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles could be looking for an extra running back to add to the mix for the 2020 season.
Last spring, the team felt confident enough in using a second-round pick on Miles Sanders following an impressive career at Penn State.
And while Sanders put together some impressive numbers over the first two months, the running back came up big for the Eagles down the stretch to the point where Philadelphia most likely wouldn’t have been able to win the NFC East without him.
Moving forward, there’s no question that Sanders has earned the right to be the team’s top option in the backfield, but just like previous years, the Eagles would love to add another reliable option to help take some of the pressure off.
Talent-wise, J.K. Dobbins made a strong case for being one of the top running backs from this year’s class after an unbelievable junior campaign with Ohio State after rushing for more than 2,000 yards to go along with 23 total trips into the end zone (two receiving).
Dobbins is the kind of downhill runner Philadelphia would love to bring on board to provide the offense with a dominant duo at running back, and it’s safe to say Sanders would benefit the most from this selection with the amount of pressure it would take off.
