2020 NFL Mock Draft: What if the Bengals pass on Joe Burrow?
By Dan Parzych
All things considered, it seems like the Miami Dolphins will have little trouble landing Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa when speculating how the top four picks are expected to play out.
Despite the Dolphins ending the 2019 season on a high note by winning three of their final five games, there were some fans that were disappointed over the fact that Miami missed out on the top overall pick since they appeared to be a lock early on.
Ryan Fitzpatrick certainly deserves a ton of credit for stepping up for the Dolphins to provide some sort of life on offense. And Josh Rosen can even make a case that he deserves a chance to fight for the starting job since he was a former first-round pick in 2018 for a reason.
But when it comes to Miami investing in a quarterback like Tagovailoa with one of their picks in the first round during the upcoming draft, the Dolphins would be foolish to pass on this opportunity.
Since Fitzpatrick will retire at some point, and there is no guarantee that Rosen has what it takes to be a reliable starter, Miami knows they have to make Tagovailoa their pick after looking at his impact from the previous three seasons with the Crimson Tide.
The 76 touchdown passes compared to just nine interceptions over the last two seasons are just one of many factors behind what Tagovailoa could bring to the table, so Dolphins fans would obviously be excited over a move like this.
