2020 NFL Mock Draft: What if the Bengals pass on Joe Burrow?
By Dan Parzych
Keeping the trend going in the wide receiver department, the Arizona Cardinals are another team that could benefit from adding a player at the position early on in the first round to help Kyler Murray entering his sophomore NFL season.
Around this time last year, the Cardinals were sitting in the driver’s seat of the draft with the top overall pick, and even though they went quarterback the year before with Josh Rosen, there’s no question that Murray already looks like the much better choice.
Just like most rookie quarterbacks, Murray saw plenty of ups and downs during his first season of NFL action, but there’s no question this early experience should pay off in a big way for the long run in Arizona.
Hearing the news that Larry Fitzgerald will be back for another season in 2020 was great for the Cardinals, but the veteran isn’t going to be around forever, and the Cardinals realize they could be without their beloved wideout starting in 2021 since Father Time is catching up.
At least if Arizona were to look to the draft for some help, Jerry Jeudy should be available at No. 8, and seems capable of making a splash right away as a rookie with the right opportunity.
Jeudy’s speed alone on top of the impressive numbers from his time spent at Alabama makes the wideout a worthy selection, and best of all would have the opportunity to build up the necessary chemistry with Murray for years to come.
