4. Jason Strowbridge, DL, North Carolina

The Senior Bowl needed to answer some questions about where Jason Strowbridge would play. Before the Senior Bowl weigh-ins, Strowbridge was listed at 285 pounds, which made sense considering he played defensive tackle most of his career in North Carolina. It wasn’t until the latter part of the season where he was used at defensive end.

Statistically, the change didn’t move the needle but it allowed Strowbridge to give scouts a glimpse at his potential in the edge. At the Senior Bowl, he took his draft stock to another level. He weighed in at 267 pounds and looked ready to show he hadn’t lost an ounce of strength, receiving praise from all across the draft community including The Athletic’s Dane Brugler:

"“I was really intrigued by UNC DL Jason Strowbridge on tape (No. 77 overall on my board coming into the week) and he’s consistently played at a high level through two practices. Powerful hands, agile feet. And he’s been disruptive both outside and on the interior.”"

Like he had during his senior season, Strowbridge lined up as an end and he looked natural. Thanks to his raw power and ability to put on weight, Strowbridge proved he’s a pass rush chess piece. He’s certainly likely to hear his name called earlier in the 2020 NFL Draft than many previously thought after the week in Mobile.
