Super Bowl 54 is right around the corner. With all of the talented players suiting up for Kansas City and San Francisco this Sunday, you can create a super team.

This coming Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will clash in Super Bowl LIV. The game kicks off from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, February 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Fans can’t wait for the pre-game festivities, commercials and halftime show. However, the real attraction is always the players.

The Chiefs and 49ers possess two of the most talented teams in the NFL. Kansas City’s offense puts up video game numbers while San Francisco’s defensive front squashes the opposition. Imagine putting together a roster from these two dominant teams. Well, it turns out, you don’t have to imagine as we’re going to build that team.

The complete roster, which takes into account the offense, defense, and special teams, includes 27 players. Kansas City contributed 11 players, while San Francisco accounted for the other 16.

Before this gets hectic and controversial, let me start by saying that I am assuming every player on both rosters is healthy. That includes any player currently on injured reserve (IR) because it just wouldn’t be as fun if those players got left out. You want to see the best players from every team, right? Don’t worry, when one of those injured players does appear, I will mention the injury and further justify the player’s inclusion.

Now, let’s dive into the roster by taking a look at the team captain, who also happens to be the best player suiting up in Miami.

Quarterback: Patrick Mahomes (KC)

While Jimmy Garoppolo deserves a lot more credit for his role in San Francisco’s playoff run than the public gives him, Patrick Mahomes is special. Aaron Rodgers won the Super Bowl in his third year as a full-time starter. Now, Mahomes is poised to accomplish the greatest feat in football only two years into his time as a starter. His name could go down with the all-time greats.

Fans tend to overlook Garoppolo’s performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14, where the 49ers went to the Superdome and defeated New Orleans on a last-minute drive that resulted in a field goal. Garoppolo orchestrated that game-winning drive and threw for 349 yards and four touchdowns.

While Garoppolo lingers around the edge of the top ten quarterbacks in the NFL currently, Mahomes sits at the top. Last season, he won the MVP by throwing for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. The Chiefs went to the AFC Championship Game but came up short against the New England Patriots in overtime.

This postseason, Mahomes is on a mission. He threw for 615 yards and eight touchdowns as Kansas City scored a combined 86 points in their two playoff games. Regardless of who wins the MVP this season, Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL.
