The Super Bowl is the best time for exotic wagers. While I wouldn’t recommend taking any action on these, let’s look at some of the wildest props out there.

The Super Bowl is like Christmas for sports bettors. Not only do you have your classic game spreads and over/under bets on which to wager, but sportsbooks all around the country release prop bets. Prop bets are betting lines on any outcome, whether it be a player’s performance, something happening in the game or even an event taking place outside of the game.

People will bet on just about anything nowadays, and Super Bowl props are becoming increasingly more ridiculous. A few years ago, there was a prop bet on whether Joe Buck would be clean-shaven for the Super Bowl LI broadcast. People would actually take their hard-earned money and bet whether or not a man would shave his face. For those curious, he did not shave and I lost a lot of money.

Whether you bet for cash, the thrill of the game, or pure entertainment value, it’s a great time of year to enjoy a little extra excitement as the two best teams in football clash in Super Bowl LIV. After searching throughout several sportsbooks, I have found five ridiculous prop bets you can actually bet on.

Will the Broadcast Show the Video of Andy Reid Doing the Punt, Pass and Kick Competition? (Yes +300, No -500)

If you’ve ever watched a primetime game where Andy Reid has coached, inevitably you have seen the video of a 13-year old Andy Reid among several children near his age doing the punt, pass, and kick competition. The funny thing about this video is that Reid is nearly twice the size of his competitors and looks like a college football player playing in a Pee-Wee game.

For some reason, whenever the announcers are at a dull spot in the game, they love to bring out this old gem. MyBookie has the odds favored at -500 that they won’t show the video. Still, the fact that you can wager on whether the Super Bowl broadcast will take a break to show America’s Funniest Home Videos is quite bizarre.

Will There Be a Double-Doink? (Yes +500, No -1000)

For those Green Bay Packers fans who are still sour on missing your trip to Miami, there’s a bet just for you. You can relish in your division rival’s misery of yesteryear and wager on if there will be a double-doink in the Super Bowl.

For those of you who forget or have blocked out the memory (I’m talking to you Chicago Bears fans), a double-doink occurs when the kicker misses a field goal by having the ball bounce off of two uprights or an upright and the crossbar.

MyBookie obviously has this outcome as a longshot because this is so difficult to do and both Harrison Butker and Robbie Gould are extraordinary kickers. Nonetheless, if you are feeling extra petty, you can wager on a kicker’s worst nightmare coming true on the biggest stage.

Will Kyle Shanahan Blow a 28-3 lead? (Yes: +10,000)

Since misery loves company, Atlanta Falcons fans should skip to the next wager.  Kyle Shanahan is back in the Super Bowl for the first time since his days as offensive coordinator of the Falcons. SuperBowl LI started out really well for Atlanta, until the end of the 3rd quarter where the New England Patriots rattled off 31 unanswered points in the largest comeback in Super Bowl history.

The odds by PointsBet list this outcome as astronomically unlikely, as the largest deficit overcome in a Super Bowl before this fiasco had been only 10 points. If this happens to Kyle Shanahan again, I don’t think he will ever recover. If you enjoy rooting for absolute chaos, this is the bet for you.

If a fan runs onto the field, who will make the first tackle? (Security:+120, Player: +175, Team Staff Member +250, Another Fan: +750)

Fan is short for fanatic, and given at least one of these franchises has not been to a Super Bowl in 50 years, someone is bound to do something fanatical. That could include a fan running on to the field during the live broadcast for their 15 seconds of fame. And you can bet on who will bring that fame to an end.

Right now, BetOnline has the security staff as the odds-on favorite to tackle a fan to the ground. It is their job after all, so it makes sense they’d be the most likely to make the tackle. However, the next best odds are a player making the tackle. Given how both George Kittle and Travis Kelce love to have fun, I can easily see them going in for the takedown.

The biggest longshot is to have another fan come on to the field to stop the first fan. If you want to put some money down on this wager, go to Miami and run on the field, you could make some serious coin on your way to prison.

Will There Be a Power Outage? (Yes: +5000)

The last time the 49ers played in the Super Bowl, the bright lights weren’t so bright for a while. In Super Bowl XVLII, the power went out in Mercedes Benz Superdome in the third quarter after the Baltimore Ravens took a 28-6 lead. It took over 30 minutes for the power to come back.

Now, you can wager that it’ll happen again. According to BetOnline, it will only count if the outage happens during the live broadcast and occurs between kickoff and the end of the game. Given the odds are +5000, there is a better chance the city cuts your power because you spent your electric bill money on all of these weird prop bets.
