6. Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants

2019 Stats: 3,027 passing yards, 24 TDs, 12 INTs, 61.9 completion %, 87.7 passer rating, 279 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs

New York Giants fans were livid when their favorite team rolled the dice with Daniel Jones at No. 6 overall. It seemed like an extremely risky pick at the time, but the move seems to have paid off for the Giants based on the early returns provided by the young signal-caller.

It took only three games until New York decided to insert Danny Dimes into the starting lineup, and he paid immediate dividends. He won his first two starts, although that fact is muddled a bit by the other fact that the Giants lost eight straight games after that. Still, there were plenty of positives to take away from Jones’ performance.

Despite all of the losses, Jones showed excellent leadership, poise and productivity during his 12 games as the starter. He moved well in the pocket, showed off plus athleticism and put on a couple of passing clinics, including three outings with at least four touchdowns and zero interceptions. Put simply, the kid can fling the football with the best of them.

New York went out looking for a long-term replacement for Manning and definitely found it with Jones. While we saw plenty of growing pains (and fumbles) from the rookie in 2019, we also saw more than enough to convince us he’s got franchise quarterback potential.
