If the Los Angeles Chargers do in fact move on from Philip Rivers this offseason, here are 10 potential replacements for the team to consider at quarterback.
After spending the last 16 years as part of the Los Angeles Chargers, could Philip Rivers be in search of a new team for the 2020 season? Nothing is set in stone at the moment, but with a recent report claiming the Chargers are moving on from Rivers, the speculation is already beginning over where the former NC State star could end next year.
Better yet, if Los Angeles is in fact done with Rivers, this means the Chargers will need to figure out a new quarterback to move forward with during the 2020 season as well.
With all due respect to Rivers since there were plenty of years in which he was considered a top quarterback in the league, 2019 made it clear this no longer seems to be the case.
While there are a few teams Rivers could arguably start on next season, at this stage in his career, the veteran could be better off in a backup role, and be a mentor to someone younger at quarterback.
As for who the Chargers could end up going with at quarterback in 2020 if football fans have in fact seen the last of Rivers in Los Angeles, well the good news is there will most likely be plenty of great candidates to choose from.
Even though this is all pure speculation at this point in the offseason, it never hurts to get an early look at potential replacements for Rivers on the Chargers in 2020, so here are 10 candidates that immediately come to mind.
