Chicago Bears: 7-Round 2020 mock draft post-Senior Bowl
The Chicago Bears got a close look at some possible draft prospects at last week’s Senior Bowl. Here is my latest mock draft.
The Chicago Bears had their first look at draft prospects last week during the Senior Bowl practices. Some of the prospects had great practices and are now on the team’s radar and some struggled and are out.
The Bears still have the same needs as before, but now the prospects who could fill them might be different.
The Senior Bowl was the first major postseason all-star game that gives teams around the league a good look at how prospects perform against top talent. Sure, you could look at game film and see how they play, but there is something different about watching them in person and analyzing their size, their abilities, and how they look while competing.
Some highly touted players might struggle when they have good talent in front of them all week. There are some, like small school prospects, who open eyes and move up in experts’ draft boards.
With all the practices are over and the game played, the Bears’ front office now start analyzing the scouts’ reports from Mobile. They adjust their boards and their plan on what they’ll look for at the NFL Combine from Feb. 23-March 2.
The Bears’ priority in this draft is to add to the offense. They have to protect quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. He needs to stay upright to throw the ball to his receivers. Also, they need to add some depth on defense and find someone who could complement linebacker Khalil Mack. Chicago spent a small treasure in draft picks and money to acquire him so they need to have someone who allows him to operate in more space so he can be the dominant force we’re used to seeing.
Before we get there, let’s take a look at the Bears’ mock draft as of now. As the college offseason progresses, players move up and down. This is my mock draft for the Bears as of this moment.
