4. player. Tight End. LSU. Stephen Sullivan. 817. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace has done a great job of drafting in the middle rounds, especially in the fourth round. In his five seasons, he found Nick Kwiatkoski, Tarik Cohen and Eddie JacksonStephen Sullivan could be his latest fourth-round steal.

When you look at Sullivan’s stats you’ll wonder what the big deal is.with him. In his career with LSU, he has a total of 46 receptions for 712 yards and just three touchdowns. Looking at his 2019 totals and you’ll scratch your head. He had 12 receptions for 130 yards and no touchdowns. So what gives?

Well, LSU had an embarrassment of riches. They had receivers all over the place and only one ball to go around. Sullivan had to wait in line for his catches.

Sullivan showed what he could be during the Senior Bowl practices. His week began great with his measurements. He came in at 6-6 and weighed 254 pounds. He also had an amazing 85-inch wingspan. Sullivan used that body to succeed throughout the week. He made some ridiculous catches and impressed the coaches. He also did a great job during the blitz-pickup drills.

In high school, he was a wide receiver and it shows. He catches the ball at its high point and has soft hands to snag the ball and not let it hit his chest. Additionally, he runs great routes. His comparison is Evan Engram, a player who can be used as both a wide receiver and a tight end, creating mismatches all over the field.

Sullivan would continue Pace’s success in the fourth round. He’ll be a good player who will become a starter in the offense.
