The Cleveland Browns were a debacle in 2019 but they can become ‘dangerous’ again if they land a 2020 NFL Draft haul like in this 7-round mock draft.

When then-rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield led the Cleveland Browns to a dominant Week 10 victory over the Falcons in 2018, his explanation for his stellar performance became something of a rallying cry among Browns fans. Stated simply, Mayfield “woke up feeling dangerous.”

But as the Browns enter the offseason after the quarterback’s sophomore campaign in Cleveland and have eyes on the 2020 NFL Draft, they appear anything but dangerous. After all, when a much-ballyhooed team goes belly up thanks to a poor coaching hire (Freddie Kitchens), drama on the field and in the locker room (Myles Garrett, Odell Beckham Jr. and more) and some poor choices in terms of personnel, the dangerous feeling tends to dwindle.

To the credit of Cleveland, they have seemingly realized the error of their ways. Kitchens is out as head coach and respected offensive mind Kevin Stefanski now takes over this team. Furthermore, the team cut ties with general manager John Dorsey and replaced him with Andrew Berry, a hire that brings a lot of excitement.

While Berry will have his first opportunity to prove himself in free agency, where the Browns have plenty of cap room, he can really make some noise in Cleveland when the 2020 NFL Draft rolls around. The franchise owns the No. 10 overall pick in April’s proceedings and, thus, has the opportunity to address some of their biggest holes there and with their other six selections, including an extra third-rounder (though they’re absent a fifth-round pick).

The Browns have plenty of firepower and hope still on their roster with Mayfield, Beckham, Nick Chubb, Jarvis Landry, Garrett, Olivier Vernon, Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams. But they must fix the glaring holes on the offensive line while also addressing depth needs on the defense.

How can Berry and the Cleveland Browns accomplish that and get back to feeling dangerous once again? Things playing out as they do in this 7-round mock draft would undeniably help the cause.
