Josh Uche does not fill the most immediate need for the Browns. With Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon — whenever Garrett’s suspension is lifted — there’s no doubt that Cleveland has their top two pass rushers in tow. What they need, however, is more rotational pieces and depth behind that fierce duo. Uche coming out of Michigan can provide them that.

There’s no question that Uche can line up on the edge and win with explosiveness and speed to get to the quarterback. That alone would serve the Browns well as they add depth. However, what makes Uche more enticing is his ability to drop back and succeed in coverage if asked. That versatility will be greatly valuable for this team.

The Browns can’t just stop addressing the offensive line with Tristan Wirfs at No. 10. This is a group that, on the whole, was a disaster. Their lack of protection caused Mayfield to develop bad habits and the fact that Chubb had a good year behind them is a testament to the running back’s talent. But now with the opportunity to improve, they must keep doing so.

Ben Bartch is a great find at the end of the third round to do just that. Coming out of a small school in St. John, Bartch started to get in some radars at the end of the year but really proved himself in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. While he must get stronger, his upside is that of a longtime NFL starter at tackle.
