Yannick Ngakoue, Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2, 246 pounds)

If the Chicago Bears want to create a devastating pass rush they could go after Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue is an elite pass rusher. The problem with him is the opposite of Floyd, as his weakness is against the run. When healthy, the Bears have a strong enough run defense to overcome Ngakoue’s weakness.

Another positive going for Ngakoue is his health. He’s played in 63 of a possible 64 games in his career. Floyd played in 54 of 64 games.

For his career, Ngakoue has 122 tackles (42 for loss), 37.5 sacks, 85 quarterback hits, and 14 forced fumbles. Compare that to Floyd: 154 tackles (26 for loss), 18.5 sacks, 44 quarterback hits and one forced fumble. Floyd’s numbers include two seasons playing on the opposite side of Mack.

Having Ngakoue and Mack rushing the quarterback comes in handy in the NFC North. The Bears defense faces good quarterbacks for eight games in their division. Having two pass rushers as good as Mack and Ngakoue, along with Hicks, gives those quarterbacks little time to make throws.

The more they’re rushed, the more mistakes are made. Then the secondary has more opportunities to make turnovers. We saw what a turnover-happy defense does to help the offense.

It would be fun to see Ngakoue play on the field with Mack. Both players would combine to make opposing quarterbacks’ lives miserable and Chicago Bears’ quarterback Mitchell Trubisky‘s life easier.
