2020 NFL Mock Draft: Dolphins, Panthers trade up in 3-round projection
Joe Burrow submitted perhaps the best college football season that we’ve ever seen from a quarterback. Throwing for well over 5,000 yards and 60 touchdowns while leading LSU to a National Championship, he showed everything you need to see for him to be the No. 1 pick. No, he’s not the greatest physical quarterback we’ve ever seen but his requisite athleticism, mental processing, decision-making and toughness make him elite as a prospect.
The Cincinnati Bengals are ready to hit reset on their team, which means hitting the button at quarterback. While there are high-end quarterback prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft class, they are all playing for second behind Burrow. Zac Taylor will have a potential superstar on his hands and he steps into a situation that might be better than some think.
When you look at the Washington Redskins, there are things to like. Dwayne Haskins flashed some growth as a rookie and caused some optimism. The offensive line isn’t in the worst position and they have drafted up their defensive talent in recent years. But after an awful 3-13 season, it’s clear that this roster is lacking in terms of potential superstars that can be the face of the franchise moving forward.
Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young is the guy that is able to be that for the Redskins. While that may not be the most immediate need for Washington, this team needs to take the best player available and Young is the best overall prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft class. He’s the easy choice with the No. 2 pick and gives the Redskins and instant-impact star.
