4. David Njoku, TE

The Packers have struggled to get the tight end position right for the past few seasons, but David Njoku of the Cleveland Browns could be the answer they’ve been looking for. It’s likely that Green Bay could release veteran Jimmy Graham this offseason, freeing up $8 million in cap space. The only problem? The Packers would have a plethora of unproven talent at tight end.

Trading for Njoku, 23, would offer high upside for an offense that needs a pass-catching tight end over the middle of the field. Far too many times this past season we saw quarterback Aaron Rodgers reluctant to challenge defenders in between the hash marks.

Drafted in the first round in 2017, Njoku has had a fairly disappointing career in Cleveland thus far. His best season was in 2018 when he recorded 56 catches for 639 yards and four touchdowns. Njoku missed 12 games this past season due to a broken wrist, which was a lost season for the Browns anyway.

A big reason Njoku could be available is because the Browns are under new management. Former general manager John Dorsey was fired in January, along with a plethora of other high-ranking executives. The Packers may be able to acquire Njoku for a mid-round selection under the new regime.
