Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Minnesota. 852. Carter Coughlin. 6. player

Most Broncos fans reading this will be asking why I took an edge player when Denver already has the likes of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb, who missed last season due to injury. Carter Coughlin is the selection not because of a massive need at the edge but because the Broncos need depth — and Miller isn’t getting any younger.

Coughlin is a solid edge rushing prospect with some possible positional versatility. While at Minnesota, Coughlin was lightning quick off the ball. His speed often gave tackles some trouble just because of how fast he was.

He also moved around a lot with the Golden Gophers, so he has some experience playing other positions. Coughlin still is a work in progress as he needs to play stronger when pass rushing to not get pushed around.

Other Players Available: Anthony Gordon, Calvin Throckmorton, Chris Williamson

7. player. Pick Analysis. Safety. Jordan Fuller. Scouting Report. Ohio State. 812

The Jordan Fuller pick is similar to selecting Coughlin in that the Broncos don’t necessarily need a safety (unless Justin Simmons leaves). It’s more of a pick for depth purposes — and the future because Kareem Jackson is certainly not getting any younger

Fuller is super explosive with great speed that can range from sideline-to-sideline. He was also used in many different ways at Ohio State. The one area where Fuller could really use improvement is his tackling ability.

He was a quite troublesome tackler while at Ohio State. Fuller would often overrun the ball carrier and have no patience when closing in. Hopefully that will improve while learning from two good safeties in Simmons and Jackson in Denver.

Other Players Available: Nevelle Clarke, Jared Hilbers, Jordan Mack
