The New England Patriots’ Super Bowl window is closing, but these trades could keep their title hopes open for a little longer.

The New England Patriots are in a precarious situation as a franchise. They are at crossroads between contending for a Super Bowl and rebuilding from the ground up. All of it depends on one decision: where does Tom Brady go in free agency? While many expect Brady to return to Foxborough after testing the market, nothing is certain. His decision this offseason will impact the direction of this franchise and ultimately their moves for the short-term and long-term.

If Brady re-signs with the team, the Patriots need to capitalize on what is left of his starting capability and acquire as many weapons as possible. This would include spending draft capital on aging talent and paying big money for savvy veterans. This short-term approach would certainly help them compete for a title, but it could hamstring them from a cap standpoint down the road.

On the other hand, if Tom Brady departs in free agency, the Patriots would be forced to rebuild. Without a successor in the building, no offense to Jarrett Stidham, New England would need to shift their focus to finding young talent to build around in the hopes of grabbing a franchise quarterback in this year’s or next year’s draft.

The Patriots currently have multiple assets to part with, including eleven total picks in this year’s draft, so getting a trade done should be relatively easy. While many teams may not like trading with the Patriots, it hasn’t stopped them before. The Patriots have completed over 150 trades under Bill Belichick and are primed to make several deals this offseason.

Here are five names the Patriots could target via trade.
