2020 NFL Draft: 5 Best landing spots for Tua Tagovailoa
By Dan Parzych
2. Los Angeles Chargers
Throughout his career, there have been plenty of times in which Philip Rivers looked like a top quarterback in the NFL, but 2019 made it clear the veteran was far from the player he used to be.
From his arm strength being down to the Chargers winning just five games, as difficult as it was for Los Angeles to part ways with Rivers this offseason, this move seemed to be the best option for both parties.
In time, Rivers will find a new home for the 2020 season, whether it happens to be as a starter or simply a backup to a contender.
As for the Chargers, well since this team seems to have the talent to make the leap back to being a contender in the AFC next season, there’s a good chance the team will look to free agency to find an experienced quarterback.
But if Los Angeles were to look to the draft for a new franchise quarterback to build the offense around, the team could be in great position to land Tagovailoa at No. 6 if the other teams ahead of them decide to go with someone else.
However, just like the situation with the Panthers, this may be another situation in which the Chargers may have to pull off a trade if they wanted Tagovailoa to end up in Los Angeles.
