7. player. 87. . Defensive Tackle. Carolina Panthers. Derrick Brown

Does Matt Rhule have what it takes to help the Carolina Panthers turn things around after missing out on the playoffs in each of the last two seasons?

As bad as it sounds, the Panthers made the right decision in moving on from Ron Rivera before the end of the regular season since Carolina seemed to be a lock for a playoff spot early on over the last two seasons before it all fell apart.

Hiring Rhule should help the Panthers turn things around in 2020 if his previous stints with Temple and Baylor are any indication of what the organization should expect.

But of course, just because the Panthers feel great about their new head coach doesn’t necessarily mean the team is guaranteed to turn things around next season.

If anything, Carolina needs to spend the next few months focusing some of their top needs, especially on the defensive side of the football.

Even though the argument can be made the Panthers should focus on the void left by Luke Keuchly early on in the first round, Derrick Brown seems too talented of a defender to pass on if available when Carolina is on the clock.

When looking at the explosiveness Brown possesses, this seems like a selection the Panthers will love.
