4. Karl Joseph (Age: 26)

Karl Joseph has gone through a lot with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. He’s dealt with multiple defensive coordinators and position coaches and multiple schemes. Now that he’s about to be a free agent, he might want some more stability. The chance to play and succeed on an elite defense with the Chicago Bears is another attraction.

Joseph dealt with an injury that kept him out of seven games in 2019. That means he can be had for an amount lower than other safeties. Depending on what the Bears do to try to clear up space that could be important.

When Joseph was in he performed well. He had 48 tackles, an interception, and 3 passes defended in 2019.

The Raiders drafted Johnathan Abram in the first round of the 2019 draft and he performed well in the preseason before hurting his shoulder in the first game of the season and not return. He is healthy now and the Raiders might want to go with him.

Joseph is a hard-hitting safety who provides good run support. He isn’t flashy but gets the job done. Again, this is an elite unit with many great players who attract all sorts of attention so Joseph can come in and just do his job. As solid as he is, he could start getting more attention with the Bears defense.
